Timeline

  • Internal building works approaching completion. External works proceeding with an expected completion date of November 2020.

    2020

  • Internal fit-out near completion. Gyprocking of church, all walls and partitions in classrooms completed, ceiling tiles installed, Air conditioning ducting complete, erection of choir loft in the chapel, Planter boxes and landscaping. Construction work of tower.

    2019

  • Substantial trenching and laying of more than 600m of fire service pipes and main water lines. Completion of basic kitchen facilities, installation of air conditioning ducting. Completion of cladding. Painting. Lock up stage reached. Security system installed.

    2018

  • Main toilets waterproofed and tiled. Toilets and partitions installed. Sewer connection to septic tank. Substantial earthworks. Some air conditioning installed.

    2017

  • Glazing installed around the perimeter of the building. Eaves lined with CFC . First stage of tower complete. Earthworks.

    2016

  • Completion of surface drainage, sewer lines, connection to sewer and water lines.

    2015

  • Additional block work to reduce glazing slab for water tank.

    2014

  • Stormwater, sewer lines, water lines, external cladding and additional block work.

    2013

  • Roof tiles, other roofing and all guttering on the school body.

    2012

  • Block work reinforcement and concrete core filling. Roof frame and tiles for the church.

    2011

  • Constructions of structural steel.

    2010

  • Construction of external Block work.

    2008

  • Building works begin on Stage 1. In November The Bishop of Hertzegovina His Grace Grigorije attends the consecration of the foundation slab.

    2007

  • Building approvals for Stage 1 are approved by Campbelltown Council. His Grace Bishop Irinej is appointed Serbian Orthodox Bishop of Australia and New Zealand.

    2006

  • His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar and Her Royal Highness Princess Katherine lay the Foundation Stone of St Sava College. Bishop Milutin invites them to become Patrons of the College.

    2005

  • His Grace Bishop Milutin invites Partriarch Pavle to consecrate newly purchased land in Varroville.

    2004

  • Land purchased at Varroville by the Diocese and not through donations.

    2003

  • Diocesan Executive Board confirms the St Sava College Board and Bishop Nikanor appoints Fr.Rade Radan – Project Director.

    2002

  • St Sava College project is formally placed under the jurisdiction of the Diocese. Ilija Glisic is appointed President of the Board.

    2001

  • Fr. Srboljub Miletich and the St. Stephens Parish Board in Rooty Hill explore the possibility of establishing St Sava College under the auspices of the parish.

    2000

  • At the invitation of His Grace Bishop Luka, HRH Princess Elizabeth Karadjordjevic visits Australia in October to commemorate the inauguration of the St Sava College Project. The Project was under the auspices of the former St Sava Association which donated an amount of $160,000 to the St Sava College to support administrative expenses, wages and the early start up costs of the College. Escalation of the conflict in the Balkans causes work on the project to be postponed.
