We’re all in this together!
Over the last decade, our Church and community have invested millions of dollars in the purchase of land and the building of St Sava College which will, God willing, and with your help, open in January of next year. Big things are happening on site now as we shift into third gear to get the job finished. The external civil works are well underway and the site is changing dramatically with the building of football fields, parking lots and internal roads. The good news is that the funds for all this work have been allocated. But there are things to complete internally.
We still have a number of things to do to finish the building. Flooring painting, concreting, landscaping, fencing and so on. All up, we need to raise a further $305,000. That fundraising goal would have been achievable had not our major fund raising events been cancelled because of the threat posed by the Covid-19 virus. Instead of events, we are appealing directly to our community and friends and requesting everyone to dig deep, donate and help us get our first intake of students into St Sava College in January 2021.
Some people are doing it tough, with some facing the threat of job loss or diminished income. If you can’t donate, nobody expects you to. Take care of your families. However, you can help by telling others who may be able to assist financially, to lend a hand. Remember, all donations are tax deductible! Circulating our appeal through social media is important and a great help. Take a look at the attached clip to see what Ksenija Lukic reveals about current progress. Be a part of this final phase leading up to the opening, because, as the song says, we really are all in this together!
God’s blessing be upon you all!
